Nice blog&pics got the link from Surfcasters. I noticed you catch a nice mix bag down river around Dunlawton but have you tried a little North around Grenada/Cassen with much success? I'm about 45 mins from there and its the closest all night inshore fishing I have. Tried it a couple times but caught only puffers, pinfish, undersized mangos... looking for new spots to try in the evenings. Not a huge fan of surf fishing in the dark especially in the winter. Thanks.
I think Dunlawton area is as far north as I've tried to be honest. The problem with the river now is it's full of bluefish, especially at night around lights and bridges. They tear up baits quickly before other fish get a chance to see it. Surf fishing at night really isn't too bad, but I do recommend bringing a buddy. I might try surf fishing at night soon and see how it is in the winter time. Definitly won't be getting wet thats for sure.
Thanks..I'm from the NE so I don't mind the blues if they're of any decent size (15-20" snapper blues are best for the table, they just need to be bled and iced immediately). The little guys are notorious bait thieves though.
